Should cars of the future be hybrid-style vehicles

Should cars of the future be hybrid-style vehicles in order to reduce pollution and the harm caused to the environment? Should people who own cars be required to pay more tax because of the pollution and damage their cars cause to the environment?
– – One of the themes that have dominated debates in the twenty first century is how to minimize pollution. Scholars and environmentalists work tirelessly to come up with various solutions of conserving the environment. It has been recognized that vehicles contribute significantly to global warming. This is because of the global warming gases that they emit such as carbon dioxide during fuel combustion. As a result of this, many have dared to answer the question, should cars of the future be hybrid-style vehicles in order to reduce pollution and the harm caused to the environment? It is good to note that hybrid vehicles normally have an electric motor engine and one that is powered by gasoline, petrol or even diesel. These types of engines combine to power the vehicle. Consequently, the rate at which they emit greenhouse gases is significantly reduced.
When working on this topic, the other related question that you might be required to answer is should people who own cars be required to pay more tax because of the pollution and damage their cars cause to the environment? In order to successfully answer this question you should invoke the polluter pays principle. According to this principle, the person who pollutes the environment should bear the cost of mitigating the effect of such pollution. Using this principle, it then follows that it is only fair to tax car owners in order to address the environmental impact that their cars causes.
When writing this type of paper it is important to not only address the question should cars of the future be hybrid-style vehicles in order to reduce pollution and the harm caused to the environment but also argue for the taxation of car owners. You are supposed to clearly show the importance of taxation of car owners for the pollution that they cause and how to design such taxation.
